Coral Reef Bleaching
This project is a series of fiber-arts pieces addressing the issue of coral bleaching. While many coral pieces continue to retain their beauty even after all of the color and life has been removed, it is an ugly process that is destructing our undersea life. Most patterns were achieved with traditional Shibori dying processes, along with a few image transfers to represent the ugly disease taking the life of the coral. Many of the designs were achieved by applying bleach to beautiful, vibrant pieces of canvas.
